Yuliya Yudina, a Director and co-founder of the charity fund to promote family placement of orphans “Change One Life”, believes that the success is when you believe in what you do and see the result. Success is when your values are shared by other people and by working together with like-minded people you can achieve positive change and make at least one life better.
Yuliya’s successful project is her five children, whom she raises with her husband, and the help to the children left without parents became the matter of her life.
The problem of orphanhood in the country remains one of the most painful and acute, despite the widespread attention to this issue. Fund “Change One Life”, which is headed by Yuliya, took care of the placement of orphans in foster families. The Fund operates in 60 regions of Russia, its specialists conduct consultations and assist in solving complex issues related to family care.
The project “Change One Life” appeared after a study, which showed that the prospective adoptive parents have no access to detailed information about the children in the custody of the state. The data of Federal Bank of orphans contains only photos and a brief description which have little to talk about a child.
To resolve this problem the fund created Russia's largest base of video profiles of children waiting for their parents and dreaming to have a family. Videos are posted on the specialized information portal for adoption. The database now includes over 16,000 videos and is constantly growing. As expected, the portal has become a popular service for many Russian families wishing to adopt children.
More than 3,200 children (every 5th child from the database profiles of the Fund) have already found their family.
In two years, the Fund managed to create a working mechanism that allows in a short time and at low cost (3,000 rubles for one video) shooting video profile of orphans from different regions of Russia.
“We're shooting children, who have no queues of the adopters, whose personal files contain many diagnoses. After reading only a personal profile, a rare adoptive parent would go to get acquainted with the child, for example, in Irkutsk and Amur regions. Video makes it possible not only to tell about the child, but to see and learn him, which increases the chances of the decision to take the child into the family. The main thing is that we are proud to be involved in a change of tens and hundreds of lives of children from orphanages who with our participation are finding new families and loving parents,” says Yuliya Yudina about the project.
The Fund is actively assisted by both business community and government agencies. Major media such as AIF, RIA provide information support, thousands of people respond in the social networks. The Fund implements joint projects with companies MegaFon, Forex Club, VIM-Avia, Mail.ru web-portal and others. Short films about orphans together with advertising agency Young & Rubicam Moscow and the Fund “Change One Life”, received the award in the category of PR Lions at the most prestigious Advertising Festival in the world - Cannes Lions.

Russia ranks 1st in the world in the number of children abandoned by their parents, I believe that it is high time to talk about the values of family and childhood. I'm glad to join such a great team. I am sure together we can help thousands of children to find their parents; the child should live in a family, and not in an orphanage.
I believe in the theory of small deeds. The order in the country begins with the order in the house, and order in the house with the order in the family. I am impressed by the courage and innovative approach of the Fund founders to make one simple and clear business: to make a video profile of the child and show it in real life, and not in the documents of custody service. Time will tell whether this simple approach is also one of the most effective, but looking at the number of children adopted by the families, I'm sure it is.
