Sunchugashev Sergey was born in the village of Bograd, the Krasnoyarsk Territory (in taiga). He received his secondary education in physics and mathematics boarding school in Novosibirsk. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with a degree in High-temperature Superconductivity. He graduated from the course of project management in the Moscow branch of the International Project Management Institute PMI (Project Management Institute, USA). During the years of his professional activities he worked in the production, was engaged in business, and supervised the election campaign. Knowledge, experience, professional competence allowed him to hold executive positions in various spheres of activity:
Today Sergey Sunchugashev is the Director General of LLC EkoKat - an innovative venture company that deals with the practical implementation of intellectual activity results (inventions) of the Institute of Catalysis, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). Catalytic heating technology developed by the Institute, is protected by patents, exclusive rights belong to EkoKat.
The company EkoKat led by its head has initiated the project “Catalytic space heating”, which today is represented by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
The project is expected to create a domestic production of catalytic filters with unique composition and structures for installation in industrial gas blow heaters. The project involves the manufacture of a new product, which has no analogues of comparable power both in the domestic and global markets. Modified blow heaters using this technology have a high efficiency – over 90%.
Some of the indicators of project efficiency include energy saving and environmental protection. Catalytic air heaters can achieve reduction of heating costs by more than 4 times as compared with the existing air heaters. During the combustion of fossil fuels emission of harmful substances is significantly reduced and their concentration in a heated room does not exceed 30% of the MPC. The composition of the emissions corresponds to the accepted norms of MPC for the air of the working area that allows using highly efficient heating equipment in closed industrial premises without additional costs for the ventilation system.
For space heating the direct air supply without the use of boilers, pipes and radiators is used. In the case of heating greenhouses additional positive effect is achieved by carbon dioxide fertilization of plants and thereby productivity increases. When heating livestock farms catalytic filter used in CAH (catalytic air heater) decomposes the ammonia present in the air, which allows solving one of the major problems of the livestock business. CAH also decomposes all organic matter in the indoor air, i.e. sterilizes the air of bacteria, viruses, odors. 90 kW and 360 kW catalytic air heaters have a term of commercial operation of 8 years.
Catalytic air heaters have been successfully tested in greenhouses in Novosibirsk.
The project meets the goals and objectives of the state program of the Russian Federation “Energy saving and energy efficiency for the period until 2020” and the State program of agricultural development and regulation of agricultural products, raw materials and food for 2013 - 2020 (activity “Development of crop production in the protected ground”). Project was rated “AA” (high probability of success) in Russian Startup Rating. (Russian Startup Rating (RSR) - a project aimed at the development of technological entrepreneurship ecosystem in Russia).
At the International Conference of startup companies and investors Starup Village, which took place in the center of Skolkovo on May 26-28, 2013, the project “Catalytic space heating” has been chosen by an international jury as the winner of the cluster “Energy Efficiency”. 2,000 projects participated in the event, of which there were 20 finalists - the most promising innovative projects.
The company EkoKat became the participant of the Second annual conference Russian Innovation Week (RIW 2013), held in Boston on September 17, 2013 and on September 19-20 in Silicon Valley.
