Yevgeniy Gavrilin is one of the founders of crowdfunding in our country. He was the first in Russia to begin talking about the direction of crowdfunding, and the first to found a platform of national funding Boomstarter.ru

Yevgeniy Gavrilin graduated with honors from the Russian University of Cooperation with a degree in International Economic Relations. In 2006, he moved to Moscow from Saransk, founded a number of successful business projects, established an Internet agency Nectarin, in 2008 created a company VideoClick, in 2010 – Video Interactive. In 2011, together with partners, he opened a design studio The Family and created a company Otclick. He is married and has a daughter. He is fond of sports; his hobbies include Thai boxing and yachting.
In 2012, Yevgeniy Gavrilin with his longtime partner Ruslan Tugushev decided to create a platform for attracting funding to innovative and creative projects using a crowdfunding model. They started their activities with the formation of an effective team for the project.

Yevgeniy says, “The key to effective team is a clear vision of the purpose, fairness to employees, accurately stipulated KPI, great ambition and desire to make your project the best.”
Now the project team has over 20 people.
Crowdfunding has long been widespread in the US and Europe, while in Russia such way of project financing is still quite young. Yevgeniy Gavrilin believes that people are much quicker at creative thinking than finding the money to support their ideas. According to him, crowdfunding in the coming years will completely change the format of interaction between the author of the project and the user.
“Anyone, if he wants to do business, learn to paint or dance, will be able not to complain about the fate of the lack of money and blame the government of his country – and will be able to prove to himself that he can do something, finding like-minded people and getting money from them,” says Yevgeniy.
BoomStarter is an online service, using which anyone who has an interesting idea or a project, but no money to implement it, can obtain money from the supporters by futures sales of the product. People place on BoomStarter.ru their announcements on the projects and raising funds for them. Visitors to the site can support the project by transferring money, and in return receive in the future from the author of the project these or those “gifts’, depending on the size of the deposit. If the author of the project with the help of BoomStarter does not raise the full amount, the money is returned back, and if he does raise, it is transferred to the author of the project, net of fees of the payment systems and of 5% commission, of which the revenue of BoomStarter itself is generated.
In 2012, the project Boomstarter was recognized by the jury as the winner in the nomination “Best socially significant startup” at the award “Startup of the Year”.

Within less than a year more than 1000 projects were released, over 100 received funding, over 20,000,000 rubles have been collected, and the monthly increase in fees is 30-35%. The project “BOOMSTARTER crowdfunding platform organization” is supported by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
